The proposed 925 student school at Sycamore Street is over

twice the size of the previous Winter Hill Community Innovation School.

The city has hired some great architects who are doing the best they can with the constraints, but a larger building footprint needs to go somewhere. Necessarily, the plans they have produced need to sacrifice green space to create a larger buiding.

A 925 student school requires a larger building footprint, which significantly reduces available outdoor space for playgrounds, fields, and community use.  A 690 student school allows for a building with a smaller footprint and capacity to design more outdoor spaces for playgrounds, fields, and community use. Building the right building for this lot retains green space for the community.
